BIG books for little people

A few words about Big Books for Little People

Big Books for Little People are larger-sized books than any regular story books for reading in class or at home. They have been designed to be used in early childhood education, particularly for students in kindergarten and first grades. They contain stories written in short sentences that are appropriate for novice readers.

At school, the large size allows teachers to gather students around the book, facilitating interactive reading activities and discussions. This fosters a collaborative learning environment and helps develop critical thinking skills. Teachers can demonstrate proper reading strategies like pointing and tracking words, which young learners can then practise on their own.

They can also be used by parents who want to foster a love for reading. Reading together can be a fun bonding activity, especially when children participate by acting out parts of the story or singing along with rhymes.

At the back of the books, you can find suggested activities, flashcards, and colouring pages to use before, while, or after reading the Big Book for Little People, flashcards and colouring pages.

They are books made with love and respect for all the little people taking their first steps in the world of reading and storytelling.

Surviving Kindergarten

Surviving Kindergarten with a Storytelling Handbook is weaved around a story-based syllabus and contains lesson plans based on 14 engaging stories, which are cognitively accessible to the children's age. The stories and activities in this book have been carefully selected to meet the needs and interests of pre-primary school children and at the same time they are in accordance with the Kindergarten curriculum. Each story provides a springboard to a wide range of related language learning activities, which bear cross-curricular links to Maths, Art, Geography, Music, Drama, and STEM and cater for different intelligences and diverse learning needs. With this storytelling handbook we aspire to provide new teachers of English at pre-primary level with valuable practical help, while at the same time to remind more experienced ones the real value of a story-based approach.
